2nd Anniversary celebration of Sober Together group, Broadway, is next Friday, Nov. 1st at 7pm. A covered dish dinner followed by speakers sharing their experience, strength and hope: Andy H. and Amy H. Join us for this special evening at the Plains District Community Center!
Got gratitude? If you are recovering from alcoholism thanks to the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous in the Harrisonburg area, that is a rhetorical question: “We are like the passengers of a great liner the moment after rescue from shipwreck when camaraderie, joyousness and democracy pervade the vessel from steerage to captain’s table. There exists among us a fellowship, a friendliness, and an understanding which is indescribably wonderful…”
Everyone is welcome to attend AA District 22’s upcoming Gratitude Dinner. There will be door prizes and abundant food for all. We have a guest speaker, Matt G. from Maryland, who will be telling his story after the dinner at 7:00 pm. Please bring a covered dish or dessert to share. Meats & Drinks will be provided by District 22.
Doors open at 4:45pm at Muhlenberg Lutheran Church (281 East Market St), Harrisonburg, VA. For directions or to add to your personal calendar, visit the event page here: https://harrisonburgaa.org/event/district-22-gratitude-dinner/. What are you grateful for? How about our new District website?
FYI – Effectively immediately, the Harrisonburg Group is no longer sponsoring a Friday 7 pm Big Book study meeting due to chronic low meeting attendance on Friday nights.

Heads up on a major change at our District: We voted at our last meeting to change our meeting time from 3:30 pm to 2:00 pm beginning on August 25. All future meetings will begin at 2:00 pm. Please pass this on to others in your home group and please make sure your GSR knows this.
